The calculators on this site are provided for general information. They are not financial, tax, accounting or legal advice, and they are not a substitute for a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.

This matters most on the VAT and sales-tax pages. Tax rates change, they vary by jurisdiction and by what is being sold, and some goods are zero-rated, reduced-rated or exempt in ways a general calculator cannot know. The arithmetic here is reliable; the rate you feed it is your responsibility, and figures used for a return or an invoice should be checked against current guidance.

Results are computed in your browser using standard floating-point arithmetic. Where a result cannot be displayed exactly, the check line shows ≈ rather than = so you can see that rounding is involved.

Some pages on this site contain affiliate links. If you follow one and go on to buy or sign up, we may receive a commission. It costs you nothing extra, and the price you pay is the same as it would be arriving any other way.

Any page carrying affiliate links says so near the top, and every affiliate link is labelled as one before you click it. We do not use affiliate links inside the calculator itself, and never between a page heading and its tool.

A commercial relationship does not buy a recommendation, and it does not change what the calculators do. Where we have nothing worth recommending, the space is used for our own guides instead of being filled with something we do not stand behind.

Accuracy and liability

We take the arithmetic seriously — the calculation engine is covered by an automated test suite including the edge cases most calculators get wrong. We still cannot guarantee that every figure, rate or example on the site is correct or current, and we accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on them.
